Interesting point,

I think my response is simply yes! and you're right, mediatation is a way of quitening background thinking.

(There is also Richards mantra of repeatedly saying 'Shut the f*** up to yourself in a commanding voice a number of times).

For those that want a simple approach to meditation I've added a new post on meditation.

Be aware that when some people meditate for the first time they become more aware of their internal 'noise' and its a bit uncomfortable at first. This can be part of the proccess which will result in it decreasing.

Any more thoughts?
