Default How to undo a negative suggestion that has resulted in a health problem?

Hi, I am interested to hear how others would go about removing the effects of a negative suggestion that has resulted in a health problem?

For example if a Doctor made a statement eight years ago.

The case in mind is of a client with cancer. There were two events. One when the doctor exchanged glances with a nurse when looking at the patients report. The other was where a doctor explained that having a termination (abortion) can be a shock for the body as the body's natural process has been interupted and the body may not know how to complete the process.

I am interested to hear how others would approach this. I am an experienced NLP'er and hypnotist.

    Kind regards Abby Eagle

  2. Default How to undo a negative suggestion that has resulted in a health problem?

( Thanks for the question - I was emailed this response from Tony Alexander who works with cancer patients.)

"I don't think there's any quick fix. It all comes down to the rather pompous expression of "Taking responsibility for the disease." In other words, what can the patient do between visits to the medical profession...

I teach self hypnosis and a whole range of visualizations for different purposes. When the cancer client starts practising these regularly, their perception of well being rises.

Only the individual knows what it's like to be on the inside, and it's an area where the medicos can't follow however skilled or well meaning they are. You don't have to have medical knowledge to "Go inside."

    Regards.

Through meditation I have discovered that no matter what the problem or difficulty - or disease - the thing to do is accept it and pay attention to what you are thinking about on a daily bases. This won?t cure the disease but it will go a long way to alleviating the suffering that we impose upon ourselves through our thoughts. These thoughts are what cause us unnecessary extra suffering. Having cancer is not the worst it can get. Continuing to lament and worry and talk about having cancer can and does make life more unbearable. Accepting cancer doesn?t mean we won?t change our diet and exercise more in the hope of healing ourselves but we will stop beating ourselves up unnecessarily.
